Every time I go to the department store hoping to get just a few basic make up items, I end up feeling very overwhelmed at all the different products I see. From lip plumpers to face primers, I get a headache just walking through the aisles. And asking the sales assistants for information just makes it worse. I get dizzy just listening to them tell me about all these products that I just must have right now. I find myself walking out with bags full of products I didn’t know I needed, only to come home and realize I don’t know what half of them are. Below are the timeless make up items that have been tried and true since the beginning of make up, and what every girl definitely needs in her make up bag. Everything else is just an additional perk.
Mascara: This is the #1 must have item of every female past make up wearing age. Your eyes say it all. If you wake up late and have time to put on only one piece of make up, this should be it. It opens up your eyes and makes you look more alert and lively. If you have one of those mornings where you wake up extremely exhausted, just washing your face and putting on a little mascara will make you feel more rejuvenated. Although it comes in a variety of colors including purple, blue and silver, the basic ones are black and brown. I prefer extra dark jet black.
Gloss: If you’re already wearing your mascara, adding gloss will really complete your look. For a regular day at the office or on a daytime outing, you really don’t need much more than mascara and a simple lip gloss. A pink gloss works on just about any complexion.
